Humbravana is a place, a land that exists
Where it is and how to get there is a mystery.
Lucoel was an artist and musician who journeyed through the land and seas of Humbravana most of his life.
In his satchel he always kept a notebook and pencils to sketch and jot down his impressions of the life and spirit of the people and places he encountered.
He also carried a wooden flute and found harmony in solitary moments with the ethereal earthly sounds he sometimes heard.
He also liked to join in with the music makers who gathered together just about everywhere. They always welcomed him kindly.
Interwoven with the sights and sounds of the land and the character of its people, Lucoel was drawn into the deeply rooted respect and enjoyment of Silence. His senses sharpened. He felt brighter, more receptive and intuitive.
Practicing Silence allowed his interconnectedness with the natural world to expand and revealed to him the presence of the elemental spirits of the earth, air and waters.
Lucoel learned that Humbravana is not a forever happy, serene and free country, but the forces at play are well known and individuated.
Governed primarily by The League of the Seven Serene Houses, the leaders (or Sarraths) are Defenders of the Peace. They are required to attend the Serenity School to study the Ancient Teachings of the Wise Ones.
The Bare Headed Sarrath, or ‘Great Servant’ is elected by the people and has supreme moral authority over the Houses and Defenders. He travels throughout the land, communing with the people and owns no possessions except a horse and the clothes on his back.
Lucoel entered into the massive stone structure of The Great Halls of Norenna only when he felt called to do so. Many times he ventured into the cavernous darkness, layered with thresholds and passages, to travel through those uncomfortable inner realms.
The shadows shift between the darkness and the light.
The traveler senses—is aware—observes and is absorbed.
What is true and what is false? Who decides what rises and what falls?
Courage, faith and intention, perseverance and skill.
Lucoel opened, received, felt, and discerned.
